The day the Democrats took over.

This is something I borrowed from another person more brilliant than me but I think you should maybe print it out and give it to your liberal friends as a rebuttal to blaming Bush for the bacon being overcooked or the dog being stinky.

The day the Democrats took over was not January 22nd 2009, it was actually January 3rd 2007 the day the Democrats took over the House of Representatives and the Senate, and the start of the 110th Congress.

The Democratic Party then controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995.

For those who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is "Bush's Fault," think about this:

January 3rd, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress:

At the time:

* The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77

* The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%

* The Unemployment rate was 4.6%

* George Bush's Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB CREATION!

Remember the day... January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee.

The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy? Right, BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!

Thank Congress for taking us from 13,000 DOW, 3.5 GDP and 4.6% Unemployment to this CRISIS by dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac fiasco's!

(BTW: Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie - starting in 2001, because it was financially risky for the U.S. economy, but no one was listening).

And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac?

OBAMA.

Who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie???

OBAMA and the Democratic Congress.

So when someone tries to blame Bush...

MONKEYS

Monkeys --

Start with a cage containing five monkeys. Inside the cage, hang a banana on a string and place a set of stairs under it. Before long, a monkey will go to the stairs and start to climb towards the banana.

As soon as he touches the stairs, spray all the other monkeys with cold water. After a while another monkey makes the attempt with same result, all the other monkeys are sprayed with cold water. Pretty soon when another Monkey tries to climb the stairs, the other monkeys will try to prevent it.

Now, put the cold water away. Remove one monkey from the cage and replace it with a new one. The new monkey sees the banana and wants to climb the stairs.

To his shock, all of the other monkeys beat the snot out of him. After another attempt and attack, he knows that if he tries to climb the stairs he will be assaulted.

Next, remove another of the original five monkeys and replace it with a new one.

The newcomer goes to the stairs and is attacked. The previous newcomer takes part in the punishment with enthusiasm.

Likewise, replace a third original monkey with a new one, then a fourth, then the fifth. Every time the newest monkey takes to the stairs he is attacked.

Most of the monkeys that are beating him up have no idea why they were not permitted to climb the stairs OR even why they are participating in the beating of the newest monkey. Finally, after replacing all of the original monkeys, none of the remaining monkeys have ever been sprayed with cold water. Nevertheless, no monkey ever again approaches the stairs to try for the banana.

Why not?

Because as far as they know, that is the way it has always been done around here.

And that, my fellow monkeys, is how Congress operates - And precisely why we need to REPLACE all the original monkeys this November.

Every politician under the sun has said that reducing taxes and regulations are the key to bringing jobs home to America. Yet it never happens. Why? Because tax reduction in and of itself is not the only answer. For years I've been telling folks how the Chinese and others manipulate their currency in order to maintain an unfair global advantage in manufacturing. I know this because I work with it on a daily basis.

However controversial, the answer is not tax cuts alone but strategically placed floating tariffs on imported manufactured goods coming to America, then and only then will the playing field be leveled and competition fair and balanced. Once coupled with the appropriate tax cuts and common sense regulations, sanity will return to world markets and jobs back home to America.

Renaldo: Leaving for a state that will support him with dignity

Phoenix, AZ (AP) - Thousands of illegal immigrants are showing their outrage with Arizona's controversial new SB-1070 law by boycotting the state and moving elsewhere.

One example of those who are punishing the state by leaving is illegal immigrant Manuel Renaldo. As he loaded his stolen car with his family of twelve's belongings, Renaldo told this reporter through an interpreter, "It's a matter of principle, 'homes.' I refuse to be supported by someplace that treats me like a criminal."

The affects of the exodus are being felt by Arizona retailers who report dwindling beer, spray paint, and ammunition sales. Also hit hard are Arizona hospitals, who have reported a dramatic decline in births and emergency room visits by illegal aliens. "We're ecstatic," said one administrator for Banner Health in Phoenix. "At this rate we may see a profit one day."

The boycott/exodus of Arizona by illegals is expected to grow exponentially leading up to the law's starting date.

United States v. Arizona — How 'Bout United States v. Rhode Island? [Andy McCarthy]

Well whaddya know? It turns out that Rhode Island has long been carrying out the procedures at issue in the Arizona immigration statute: As a matter of routine, RI state police check immigration status at traffic stops whenever there is reasonable suspicion to do so, and they report all illegals to the feds for deportation. Besides the usual profiling blather, critics have trotted out the now familiar saw that such procedures hamstring police because they make immigrants afraid to cooperate. But it turns out that it’s the Rhode Island police who insist on enforcing the law. As Cornell law prof William Jacobson details at Legal Insurrection, Colonel Brendan P. Doherty, the state police commander, “refuses to hide from the issue,” explaining, ”I would feel that I’m derelict in my duties to look the other way.”

If, as President Obama and Attorney General Holder claim, there is a federal preemption issue, why hasn’t the administration sued Rhode Island already? After all, Rhode Island is actually enforcing these procedures, while the Arizona law hasn’t even gone into effect yet.

Could it be because — as we’ve discussed here before — the Supreme Court in Muehler v. Mena has already held that police do not need any reason (not probable cause, not reasonable suspicion) to ask a person about his immigration status?

Could it be that just this past February, in Estrada v. Rhode Island, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit upheld the Rhode Island procedures, reasoning that, in Muehler v. Mena, the Supreme Court “held that a police officer does not need independent reasonable suspicion to question an individual about immigration status”?

So, we have a Justice Department that drops a case it already won against New Black Panthers who are on tape intimidating voters in blatant violation of federal law, but that sues a sovereign state for enacting a statute in support of immigration enforcement practices that have already been upheld by two of the nation’s highest courts. Perfect.

Obama renews immigration push

The president meets with lawmakers to discuss a strategy for passing a bill this year; gaining Republican support will be a challenge. He will make his case to the public in a speech Thursday.

Reporting from Washington —

It would be a revival worthy of Lazarus, but President Obama is making a renewed push for an immigration overhaul, possibly during a lame-duck session of Congress after the November election — when members would no longer face an imminent political risk for supporting it.

Obama met with members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus in the State Dining Room on Tuesday and discussed a strategy for passing a bill that had seemed dead for the year.

On Thursday morning, the president will put the issue before the American public. In a speech at American University, he plans to make the case for providing a path to legal status for the estimated 11 million people who live in the U.S. illegally while (claiming he will strengthen border enforcement.) Where have we heard that before? OBAMA LIES!

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said at his daily briefing Tuesday that "this continues to be a very important national issue" requiring Republican support. To date, no Republican senators have agreed to back a comprehensive immigration bill. Nor has such a bill been introduced in the Senate. (Let's pray it stays that way.)

With conservatives energized, angry and likely to storm to the polls, Democrats fear they will lose even more seats in Congress than a president's party typically does at the halfway point in his term.

Voting on an immigration bill in a lame-duck session has some advantages in proponents' eyes. Outgoing members of Congress would have little reason to fear backing a controversial bill. And those who won might be more likely to support it, since they wouldn't have to face voters for another two years — when Obama is up for reelection and likely to draw progressives to the polls.

In addition, if Republicans make major gains in November, an immigration overhaul could be impossible in 2011 or 2012.

The non-profit Tax Foundation, a 501-c-3 Washington DC think tank founded in 1937, keeps detailed state-by-state summaries on federal revenues and spending.

The foundation reports that Nevadans’ per capita federal tax bill in 1983, the year Reid went to Washington, was $2,982, fourth highest in the US. Federal funds per capita received by Nevada that year amounted to $2,908, sixteenth highest in the nation.

By 2005, the latest year for which figures were shown in the foundation’s report, Nevadans’ per capita tax bill was $8,417, sixth highest in the nation. But per capita federal revenues received by Nevada amounted to only $5,889, lowest of all 50 states.

In another measure, in 1983 Nevadans received $0.85 for every federal tax dollar we paid; by 2005 that figure had dropped to $0.65, forty ninth in the nation. Would the number one state be California or New York with their huge congressional delegations? Nope. The winner was New Mexico garnering a whopping $2.03 in federal revenues for every tax dollar New Mexico taxpayers sent to Washington.

A California "sanctuary city" has fallen victim to illegal immigration – going bankrupt and firing all of its public employees, Jerome Corsi's Red Alert reports.

The city of Maywood, Calif., hit the budget wall after it decided not only to be a sanctuary city, but to be a completely "safe haven" for illegal aliens seeking protection from deportation.

In January 2006, Maywood's city council passed a resolution declaring that the city would not enforce any federal law such as H.R. 4557 that sought to declare illegal immigrants to be felons.

More aggressive even than sanctuary laws, this new resolution prohibited Maywood police from being involved in any immigration enforcement actions undertaken by federal, state or county authorities.

On April 11, 2006, in writing the book titled "Minutemen: The Battle to Secure America's Borders," Jim Gilchrist and Corsi interviewed Maywood Mayor Thomas Martin by telephone.

In the shocking interview available at Red Alert, the mayor strongly suggested the city of Maywood was willing to defy any federal law demanding that the police get directly involved in enforcing immigration laws.

This is a real sign here in AZ just off I-8. What do you think would happen if signs like this were to be found back East? But this is just backwater, flyover AZ so it doesn't count to the media and Congress, I guess. Folks, this nation better wake up and pay attention. This is not an exaggeration: I stopped hiking some of my favorite mountains and canyons because of the smuggling dangers. Who wants to carry more guns and ammo than water in order to survive in the Arizona desert?

Doctors limit new Medicare patients

WASHINGTON — The number of doctors refusing new Medicare patients because of low government payment rates is setting a new high, just six months before millions of Baby Boomers begin enrolling in the government health care program.

Recent surveys by national and state medical societies have found more doctors limiting Medicare patients, partly because Congress has failed to stop an automatic 21% cut in payments that doctors already regard as too low. The cut went into effect Friday, even as the Senate approved a six-month reprieve. The House has approved a different bill.

• The American Academy of Family Physicians says 13% of respondents didn't participate in Medicare last year, up from 8% in 2008 and 6% in 2004.

• The American Osteopathic Association says 15% of its members don't participate in Medicare and 19% don't accept new Medicare patients. If the cut is not reversed, it says, the numbers will double.

• The American Medical Association says 17% of more than 9,000 doctors surveyed restrict the number of Medicare patients in their practice. Among primary care physicians, the rate is 31%.

The federal health insurance program for seniors paid doctors on average 78% of what private insurers paid in 2008.

"Physicians are saying, 'I can't afford to keep losing money,' " says Lori Heim, president of the family doctors' group.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services says 97% of doctors accept Medicare. The agency doesn't know how many have refused to take new Medicare patients, Deputy Administrator Jonathan Blum says. "Medicare beneficiaries have good access to physician services. We do have concerns about access to primary care physicians."

The AARP, the nation's largest consumer group representing seniors, is taking notice. Some U.S. areas already face a shortage of primary care physicians. Policy director John Rother says the trend away from Medicare threatens to make it worse.

States are starting to see a flight from Medicare:

•In Illinois, 18% of doctors restrict the number of Medicare patients in their practice, according to a medical society survey.

•In North Carolina, 117 doctors have opted out of Medicare since January, the state's medical society says.

•In New York, about 1,100 doctors have left Medicare. Even the medical society president isn't taking new Medicare patients.

"I'm making a statement," says Leah McCormack, a New York City dermatologist. "Many physicians are really being forced out of private practice."

Florida has the highest percentage of Medicare patients, and most doctors can't afford to leave the program. But "the level of frustration has been higher this year than I've ever seen it before," says Linda McMullen of the Florida Medical Association.

Overwhelm the system

Barack Obama is no fool. He is not incompetent. To the contrary, he is brilliant. He knows exactly what he's doing. He is purposely overwhelming the U.S. economy to create systemic failure, economic crisis and social chaos -- thereby destroying capitalism and our country from within.
Barack Obama is my college classmate (Columbia University, class of '83). As Glenn Beck correctly predicted from day one, Obama is following the plan of Cloward & Piven, two professors at Columbia University. They outlined a plan to socialize America by overwhelming the system with government spending and entitlement demands. Add up the clues below. Taken individually they're alarming. Taken as a whole, it is a brilliant, Machiavellian game plan to turn the United States into a socialist/Marxist state with a permanent majority that desperately needs government for survival ... and can be counted on to always vote for bigger government. Why not? They have no responsibility to pay for it.
-- Universal health care. The health care bill had very little to do with health care. It had everything to do with unionizing millions of hospital and health care workers, as well as adding 15,000 to 20,000 new IRS agents (who will join government employee unions). Obama doesn't care that giving free health care to 30 million Americans will add trillions to the national debt. What he does care about is that it cements the dependence of those 30 million voters to Democrats and big government. Who but a socialist revolutionary would pass this reckless spending bill in the middle of a depression?
-- Cap and trade. Like health care legislation having nothing to do with health care, cap and trade has nothing to do with global warming. It has everything to do with redistribution of income, government control of the economy and a criminal payoff to Obama's biggest contributors. Those powerful and wealthy unions and contributors (like GE, which owns NBC, MSNBC and CNBC) can then be counted on to support everything Obama wants. They will kick-back hundreds of millions of dollars in contributions to Obama and the Democratic Party to keep them in power. The bonus is that all the new taxes on Americans with bigger cars, bigger homes and businesses helps Obama "spread the wealth around."
-- Make Puerto Rico a state. Why? Who's asking for a 51st state? Who's asking for millions of new welfare recipients and government entitlement addicts in the middle of a depression? Certainly not American taxpayers. But this has been Obama's plan all along. His goal is to add two new Democrat senators, five Democrat congressman and a million loyal Democratic voters who are dependent on big government.
-- Legalize 12 million illegal immigrants. Just giving these 12 million potential new citizens free health care alone could overwhelm the system and bankrupt America. But it adds 12 million reliable new Democrat voters who can be counted on to support big government. Add another few trillion dollars in welfare, aid to dependent children, food stamps, free medical, education, tax credits for the poor, and eventually Social Security.
-- Stimulus and bailouts. Where did all that money go? It went to Democrat contributors, organizations (ACORN), and unions -- including billions of dollars to save or create jobs of government employees across the country. It went to save GM and Chrysler so that their employees could keep paying union dues. It went to AIG so that Goldman Sachs could be bailed out (after giving Obama almost $1 million in contributions). A staggering $125 billion went to teachers (thereby protecting their union dues). All those public employees will vote loyally Democrat to protect their bloated salaries and pensions that are bankrupting America. The country goes broke, future generations face a bleak future, but Obama, the Democrat Party, government, and the unions grow more powerful. The ends justify the means.
-- Raise taxes on small business owners, high-income earners, and job creators. Put the entire burden on only the top 20 percent of taxpayers, redistribute the income, punish success, and reward those who did nothing to deserve it (except vote for Obama). Reagan wanted to dramatically cut taxes in order to starve the government. Obama wants to dramatically raise taxes to starve his political opposition.
With the acts outlined above, Obama and his regime have created a vast and rapidly expanding constituency of voters dependent on big government; a vast privileged class of public employees who work for big government; and a government dedicated to destroying capitalism and installing themselves as socialist rulers by overwhelming the system.

Add it up and you've got the perfect Marxist scheme -- all devised by my Columbia University college classmate Barack Obama using the Cloward and Piven Plan.

An Oil Spill Is Not a License to Suspend the Rule of Law

With pictures of oil drenched birds, blackened beaches and marshlands invaded with oil streaming across our televisions every day, it is easy to become angry and demand retribution from the cause of the disaster. Unfortunately it is also easy for unscrupulous politicians to take that anger and turn it to their political advantage. History is replete with incidents of real popular anger leading to monstrous outcomes of tyranny. On Thursday, June 17th the USA wrote a new anecdote in that awful book.

There is no doubt that the oil spill produced by the Deepwater Horizon rig and BP is a disaster of monumental ecological proportions. There is no doubt that the spill has caused the loss of livelihood for fishermen, hotel owners, beach surfboard renters and millions of other people on the gulf coast. There is also no doubt that it is the responsibility of BP to get the well shut off and pay for the cleanup.

Finally, there is no doubt that a full investigation should be conducted into how the spill happened, the role of BP and of the government in the spill and the mistakes made in the cleanup. It is important that we find out what caused the blowout, how it could have been prevented, why the cleanup was so slow in getting started, why foreign experts were not allowed to help, why the EPA is blocking applications of products as simple as hay which could soak up oil, and why Governor Jindal and others were disallowed the means to protect their shore lines by government bureaucracies.

However, none of these events or responsibilities gives the president the power to suspend the constitution, revoke the rule of law or demand payments from a company. In fact the $20 billion fund "demanded" of BP by the Obama administration does just that. To understand let's review the facts around the fund.

The fund will contain $20 billion to ostensibly pay for cleanup efforts and provide compensation to those affected by the spill.

Kenneth Feinberg, who is also known as Obama's "pay czar", will administer the fund.

Mr. Feinberg, a political appointee, will have the final say so on who will receive money from the escrow funds and how much they will get paid.

It is unknown what rules of evidence will be in force, what documentation will need to be provided and what the priorities and process for payout will be.

Furthermore, so far there are no known constraints on what the fund can be used for; since Obama clearly views alternative energy as a long-term solutionto oil spills in general, it is possible that he could direct part of that 20 billion to alternative energy research.

In short, this is a huge 20 billion dollar fund under the sole direction of a single guy without even congressional oversight.

Disturbed yet?

If you try to find the power in the constitution that allows Obama to do this, you will be even more disturbed.

In this case the government can't even claim the commerce clause of the constitution as legal basis because the commerce clause, even misinterpreted as it is, only applies to the legislature, not the executive branch.

Where exactly in the enumerated powers of the constitution does the president have the right to "demand" money from a corporation, deem them guilty of a crime and extract a settlement amount? The short answer is "nowhere."

Another pertinent question is what BP got out of this deal with the president. It is unlikely that they simply agreed to just drop $20 billion in escrow without agreements, legal documents or contracts specifying the use of the money.

If BP obtained immunity from prosecution in exchange for the money then President Obama just violated extortion laws.

· Will we get full disclosure on the deal given to BP for this fund?

· What about the payouts themselves?

· Will we be allowed to be a watchdog over those funds?

At this time it doesn't look like it.

To illustrate the problems with this fund, imagine you are a fisherman with a claim to 6 million in damages from the fund but the government only wants to pay you 2 million?

· Where do you appeal?

· What are the standards to prove damages?

· What about a hypothetical sign painter working out of Utah paid 3 million on his claim because he is the son of a congressman?

· What about the hypothetical hotel operator that has claims of damages for 5 million but is in competition with the brother of an administration official and is therefore denied?

· Furthermore, with millions applying to a single office for payment, how long will that fisherman be waiting before he can make his payroll?

In the USA we have a court system set up to provide rules of evidence, assess actual damages, estimate punitive damages, evaluate claims of complainants and assign settlements or verdicts to those damaged.

If you have a problem with the ruling, you can appeal that ruling.

When you go to court you will have to prove actual damages, not just imagined ones or political connections, and the defendant will have the ability to refute your claims if they so desire.

When millions of people filed for damages due to leaking silicone breast implants, the system worked.

When millions filed for claims due to asbestos exposure, the system worked.

The system is designed to be fair, impartial and above all non political. However in the case of BP the system was summarily replaced with a single pay czar with sole discretion over 20 billion dollars.

It is always easy to defend the rule of law when it is applied to a sympathetic target but much more difficult when applied to an oil company responsible for a spill of this magnitude. The natural reaction of anger makes it hard for politicians to get up and say, "Woah, wait a minute, this is wrong."

Few politicians have the courage to do so. Those that do express reservations about the process, such as Michelle Bachman (R-MN), are universally excoriated in the press as fans of big oil and apologists for big business.

However, that couldn't be further from the truth. The rule of law is there to prevent the society from turning into anarchy.

The rule of law is there to prevent the government from gaining too much power and imposing tyranny.

Finally the rule of law is there to protect the people from reactions of anger.

If we will suspend the rule of law for BP, why not suspend it for accused killers and let people exact vigilante justice?

The end result of this BP oil cleanup fund is more likely to be little fisherman without political connections being left hanging in the wind while their politically connected allies get big payouts.

Money will go to alternative energy projects, well connected businesses and political interests while the actual people hurt by the spill are left out.

Of course we won't know that this is going on because Feinberg will likely use "privacy" arguments to make sure the payouts are not public; in fact the Obama administration has a history of such opacity.

· One thing this fund won't do for sure is shut off the gushing oil well, or cleanup a bird.

· It won't make the government accept help from international experts.

· The fund won't convince the EPA to allow American product developers to use their products to soak up the oil in the gulf.

· The fund won't allow us to find out what really happened, what role the government had in the spill or why the cleanup was slow.

The fund will merely be a political tool for assuaging the pitchfork crowd out front that Obama is doing "something" about the mess in the gulf.

CARSON CITY – Nevada’s nation-leading 14 percent May unemployment rate announced today shows job losses are beginning to affect local governments after months of avoiding layoffs during a more than two-year long economic slowdown.

Nevada local governments have shed 5,600 jobs as of May this year compared to May 2009, a 5.3 percent reduction that far exceeds the 2.8 percent loss for all employment sectors over the same period, the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR) reported.

A total of 300 local government jobs were lost from April to May. State government employment remained unchanged from April, and was up 400 jobs over the year.

Federal government employment has expanded due to the hiring of census workers, but those jobs are only expected to last for a few months.

Bill Anderson, chief economist for DETR, said he expects to see the local government job losses continue. Once programs have been reduced and other cutbacks implemented, the last option for cost savings is personnel, he said.

Nevada’s 14 percent jobless rate was a new all-time high for the state and put it in first place nationally. The rate was a three-tenths of a percentage point increase over April’s number.

Nevada surpassed the former No. 1 state Michigan, which had been leading the nation in unemployment for 50 consecutive months.

“In just three years, Nevada’s economy has fallen from one of the strongest performing to possibly the weakest,” Anderson said.

The state will recover, but the recovery will see growth at a much more modest pace than the boom years, he said. That modest growth will be more sustainable, Anderson said.

“We’re just going to have to ride this out,” he said. “We rode the bubble up and we got up to a pretty lofty level but now we’re riding it down quite a ways.”

How Obama Reduced Crime Rates Last Year

President Obama surely didn’t intend it, but he deserves some credit for last year’s 7.4 percent drop in murder rates. His election caused gun sales to soar, and crime rates to plummet.

While gun sales started notably rising in October 2008, sales really soared immediately after Mr. Obama won the presidential race. 450,000 more people bought guns in November 2008 than bought them in November 2007, that’s over a 40 percent increase in sales.

By comparison, the change from November 2006 to November 2007 was only about 35,000. Over the last decade, the average year-to-year increase in monthly sales was only 21,000.

The increase in sales continued well beyond November 2008.

From November 2008 to October 2009, almost 2.5 million more people bought guns in the 12 months after the election than in the preceding 12 months.

The National Instant Criminal Background Check System, or NICS, doesn’t tell us how many guns each person bought just the number of people who bought them. Most likely though, gun sales rose by more than the number of people who purchased them.

At the same time gun sales were soaring, there was an unusually large drop in murder rates. The 7.4 percent drop in the murder rate was the largest drop in murder rates since the 1999. For those who don’t remember, 1999, when President Bill Clinton and Columbine occurred, was another time when gun sales soared.

With people such as Elena Kagan serving as Mr. Clinton’s deputy domestic policy adviser were pushing hard for more gun control, Americans were worried that more gun bans were coming. And in response gun sales soared.

Just as higher arrest and conviction rates, longer prison sentences, or the more frequent use of the death penalty reduce crime, so does letting victims defend themselves with guns.

More certain or greater penalties make it more risky for criminals to commit crime. Victims who can defend themselves can also make committing crime more dangerous and deter criminals.

Americans living in the District of Columbia and Chicago have seen this phenomenon themselves.

After the ban went into effect in both cities, murder rates rose dramatically.

After the Supreme Court threw out DC’s ban and gunlock laws in 2008, the District’s murder rates plunged by 25 percent in 2009.

I'm 64. Except for one semester in college when jobs were scarce and a six-month period when I was between jobs, but job-hunting every day, I've worked, hard, since I was 10. I still put in 50-hour weeks, and haven't called in sick in seven or eight years.

I'm tired of being told that I have to "spread the wealth" to people who don't have my work ethic. I'm tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy to earn it.

I'm tired of being told that I have to pay more taxes to "keep people in their homes." Sure, if they lost their jobs or got sick, I'm willing to help. But if they bought McMansions then let the left-wing Congress-critters who passed Fannie and Freddie and the Community Reinvestment Act that created the bubble help them with their own money.

I'm tired of being told how bad America is by left-wing millionaires like Michael Moore, George Soros and Hollywood Entertainers who live in luxury because of the opportunities America offers.

I'm tired of being told that Islam is a "Religion of Peace," when every day I can read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives and daughters for their family "honor"; of Muslims rioting over some slight offense; of Muslims murdering Christian and Jews because they aren't "believers"; of Muslims burning schools for girls; of Muslims stoning teenage rape victims to death for "adultery"; of Muslims mutilating the genitals of little girls; all in the name of Allah, because the Qur'an and Shari'a law tells them to.

I'm tired of being told that "race doesn't matter" in the post-racial world of Obama, when it's all that matters in affirmative action jobs, lower college admission and graduation standards for minorities, government contract set-asides, tolerance for the ghetto culture of violence and fatherless children that hurts minorities more than anyone, and in the appointment of U.S. Senators from Illinois.

I think it's very cool that we have a black president and that a black child is doing her homework at the desk where Lincoln wrote the Emancipation Proclamation. I just wish the black president was Condi Rice, or someone who believes more in freedom and the individual and less arrogantly of an all-knowing government.

I'm tired of a news media that thinks Bush's fundraising and inaugural expenses were obscene, but that think Obama's, at triple the cost, were wonderful; that thinks Bush exercising daily was a waste of presidential time, but Obama exercising is a great example for the public to control weight and stress; that picked over every line of Bush's military records, but never demanded that Kerry release his; that slammed Palin, with two years as governor, for being too inexperienced for VP, but touted Obama with three years as senator as potentially the best president ever. Wonder why people are dropping their subscriptions or switching to Fox News?

I'm tired of being told that out of "tolerance for other cultures" we must let Saudi Arabia use our oil money to fund mosques and Islamic schools to preach hate in America.

I'm tired of being told I must lower my living standard to fight global warming, which no one is allowed to debate. My carbon footprint is about 3% of Al Gore's, and if you're greener than Gore, you're green enough.

I'm tired of being told that drug addicts have a disease, and I must help support and treat them, and pay for the damage they do. I don't think Gay people choose to be Gay, but I damn sure think druggies chose to take drugs.

I'm tired of illegal aliens being called "undocumented workers," especially the ones who aren't working, but are living on welfare or crime. What's next? And, no, I'm not against Hispanics. I'm willing to fast track for citizenship any Hispanic person, who can speak English, doesn't have a criminal record and who is self-supporting, or who serves honorably for three years in our military.... Those are the citizens we need.

I'm tired of latte liberals and journalists, who would never wear the uniform of the Republic themselves, or let their entitlement-handicapped kids near a recruiting station, trashing our military. American soldiers are the only troops in history that civilians came to for help and handouts, instead of hiding from in fear.

I'm tired of people telling me that their party has a corner on virtue and the other party has a corner on corruption. Read the papers; bums are bipartisan.

I'm tired of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers and politicians of both parties talking about innocent mistakes, stupid mistakes or youthful mistakes, when we all know they think their only mistake was getting caught. I'm tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor.

Speaking of poor, I'm tired of hearing people with air-conditioned homes, color TVs and two cars called poor. The poverty pimps have to keep changing the definition of poor to keep the dollars flowing.

I'm real tired of people who don't take responsibility for their lives and actions. I'm tired of hearing them blame the government, or discrimination or big-whatever for their problems.

Yes, I'm damn tired. But I'm also glad to be 64. Because, mostly, I'm not going to have to see the world these people are making. I'm just sorry for my godson and his children.

Yet 70% of North Americans believe that the trading privileges afforded to the Chinese should be suspended.

Well, duh..why do you need the government to suspend trading privileges?

SIMPLY DO IT YOURSELF, AMERICA/CANADA !!

Simply look on the bottom of every product you buy, and if it says 'Made in China ' or 'PRC' (and that now includes Hong Kong ), simply choose another product, or none at all.

You will be amazed at how dependent you are on Chinese products, and you will be equally amazed at what you can do without.

Who needs plastic eggs to celebrate Easter? If you must have eggs, use real ones and benefit some North American farmer. Easter is just an example, the point is do not wait for the government to act. Just go ahead and assume control on your own.

THINK ABOUT THIS, If 200 million North Americans refuse to buy just $20 each of Chinese goods, that's a billion dollar trade imbalance resolved in our favor...fast!!

The downside? Some Canadian/American businesses will feel a temporary pinch from having foreign stockpiles of inventory.

The solution? Let's give them fair warning and send our own message. Most of the people who have been reading about this matter are planning on implementing this on June 4, and continue it until July 4. That is only one month of trading losses, but it will hit the Chinese for 1/12th of the total, or 8%, of their North American exports. Then they will at least have to ask themselves if the benefits of their arrogance and lawlessness were worth it.

As a US citizen, I must show legal valid ID when:

Washington Post babbled again today about Obama "inheriting" a huge deficit from Bush.
Amazingly enough, a lot of people swallow this nonsense.
So let's conduct a short civics lesson.
Budgets do not come from the White House. They come from CONGRESS.
And the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democratic Party. They controlled the budget process for FY 2008 and FY 2009, as well as FY 2010 and FY 2011. In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases. For FY 2009, though, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the FY 2009 budgets.
And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and then he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete FY 2009. Let's remember what the deficits looked like during that period:

If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the FY 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, the Democratic controlled Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets. If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself.
In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is I "inherited" a deficit that I voted for while in Congress and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th, 2009 as President of the United States.

Had never heard the word until now---Type it into Google and start reading. Pretty interesting.
[ Note that Muslims and certain other religions are exempt from the Obamacare penalties and it is supported by law. ] We are surrendering from within! leading us right down the path to total control!

Dhimmitude is the Muslim system of controlling non-Muslim populations conquered through jihad. Specifically, it is the TAXING of non-Muslims in exchange for tolerating their presence AND as a coercive means of converting conquered remnants to Islam.

The ObamaCare bill is the establishment of Dhimmitude and Sharia Muslim diktat in the United States . [Muslims are specifically exempted from the government mandate to purchase insurance, and also from the penalty tax for being uninsured.] Islam considers insurance to be "gambling", "risk-taking" and "usury" and is thus banned. Muslims are specifically granted exemption based on this. How convenient. So I, Ann Barnhardt, a Christian, will have crippling IRS liens placed against all of my assets, including real estate, cattle, and even accounts receivables, and will face hard prison time because I refuse to buy insurance or pay the penalty tax. Meanwhile, Louis Farrakhan will have no such penalty and will have 100% of his health needs paid for by the de facto government insurance. Non-Muslims will be paying a tax to subsidize Muslims. Period. This is Dhimmitude.

Dhimmitude serves two purposes: it enriches the Muslim masters AND serves to drive conversions to Islam. In this case, the incentive to convert to Islam will be taken up by those in the inner-cities as well as the godless Generation X, Y and Z types who have no moral anchor. If you don't believe in Christ to begin with, it is no problem whatsoever to sell Him for 30 pieces of silver. "Sure, I'll be a Muslim if it means free health insurance and no taxes. Democrat Cortez Masto continues her stealth assault on open-meeting laws

Our open-meeting laws are very clear: Government deliberations are to be open to the public, says NRS 241.010:

Why does Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto keep running legal interference for politicians who want to keep the public in the dark?

NRS 241.010:

"The Legislature finds and declares that all public bodies exist to aid in the conduct of the people's business. It is the intent of the law that their actions be taken openly and that their deliberations be conducted openly."

Lawmakers also held — see NRS 241.020 (5) and (6) — that a necessary part of public and open deliberations is ensuring that not only members of governing boards but also interested members of the public must have access to predecisional backup materials on agenda items. The law makes exceptions for materials in only three categories: 1) those with nondisclosure agreements related to proprietary information, 2) those reflecting the closed portion of meetings or 3) those declared confidential by law.

Despite the Nevada Legislature's clearly demonstrated intent, however, the office of Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto has chosen to sidestep the explicit provisions of state statutory law and instead insert blanket executive privilege into open-meeting law questions — assisting other government officials in ignoring the plain language of the open-meeting law and concealing their deliberations from the public.

The beneficiary of this latest offensive against the public's right to know was the Clark County Board of School Trustees, last year. Late in 2008 and right before a public board meeting, Superintendent Walt Rulffes sent to trustees and certain staffers a lengthy e-mail memo discussing an agenda item of great interest to the economically hard-hit Southern Nevada community — the district's looming budget review. In the document, Rulffes provided trustees with background information and tentative numbers on contemplated staff cuts, while also proposing strategies for dealing with the public. When a Las Vegas Review-Journal reporter requested the e-mail as back-up material under the open-meeting law, however, Rulffes and the district refused to release it, notwithstanding the clear requirement to do so under Nevada law (NRS 241.020 (5) and (6)).

Within four days, the R-J filed a complaint with the AG's office against the CCSD school board. Attorney General Cortez Masto and Senior Deputy AG George Taylor then took 148 days to render a decision — again running out the clock on the 60- and 120-day statutes of limitations that plaintiffs face when they contemplate filing lawsuits to enforce the open-meeting law.

Siding with the school district, the opinion deployed an argument that, if accepted as valid, would nullify central provisions of the open-meeting law. It took the very subject matter that the law was written to open up to the public and made it, by definition, something to which the public had no right.

"Superintendent Rulffes' December 9, 2008 e-mail communication to staff and the [trustees]," wrote Taylor, "is shielded by executive privilege, as it was both predecisional and deliberative."

As authority for this view, the opinion cited a "deliberative process" test that the Supreme Court had discussed in 2000 when it was interpreting the scope of a different law, the Nevada Public Records Act, in deciding the case of DR Partners vs. Board of County Commissioners of Clark County. Interestingly, even in that case the Court had nevertheless rejected the bid for secrecy of Clark County commissioners and ordered the district court to "compel the disclosure of complete unredacted records ...."

Taylor makes much of a long-existing understanding in common and statutory law that materials qualify as part of the deliberative process if they consist of opinions, recommendations or advice about agency policies and an agency decision or policy can be identified to which the documents contributed. Nevertheless, the opinion fails to address the legislature's explicit statement, in NRS 241.010, that its intent in producing the open-meeting law was to ensure that "deliberations (emphasis added) be conducted openly" by public bodies.

That this decision is unpublished and the other is the official AG interpretation speaks volumes about the AG's office under Cortez Masto and its commitment — or lack thereof — to open government and the open-meeting law. Cortez Masto has issued a blueprint to every public official in the state as to how to claim a bogus executive privilege for virtually any documents or materials

Regularly, this attorney general places the public behind the eight-ball and rides to the assistance of politicians who view taxpayers and the public as uncalled-for meddlers in the conduct of government by their betters, raising the odds significantly against open and transparent government.

Usurping States Rights has become a way of life for Harry Reid and his fellow Democrats.

Tucked into the 1,336-page “Restoring American Financial Stability Act of 2010,” which was sent out of committee on a party-line vote in March, are provisions that would shackle Nevada and the entrepreneurs who set up corporations in the state. A small section of the bill with the stated aim of “strengthening corporate governance” would put states like Nevada at a competitive disadvantage by federalizing state rules for incorporation.

For about 150 years, States have made laws governing a corporation’s structure and have competed on the efficiency of their incorporation processes. In the early 20th century, New Jersey led the pack. Then Delaware got the lead and remained the top incorporation state.

Starting in the ’90s, Nevada began positioning itself as the “Delaware of the West.” It is now second only to Delaware in the incorporation fees it receives. Those fees have recently totaled $83 million a year.

The businesses that incorporate in Nevada range from tiny firms to publicly held companies that trade on stock exchanges and the Nasdaq Stock Market. On WhyNevada.com, the Web site created by Democratic Secretary of State Ross Miller, the state government advertises the advantages of incorporating here, including the fact that “Nevada grants directors more flexibility.”

But the Dodd bill would take much of this flexibility from states like Nevada and those public firms that incorporate there. Section 971 of the bill mandates that a public company’s directors be elected by a majority of shareholders, rather than the plurality standard that Nevada and Delaware have.

And Section 972 pushes through a scheme called “proxy access,” in which public companies would be forced to subsidize the campaigns of alternate corporate directors nominated by a little as 1 percent of the firm’s shareholders. Firms would be required to put the names of these director nominees on the official proxy ballots they mail out to shareholders.

If this federal takeover of corporate law goes into effect, there will be fewer reasons for out-of-state firms to incorporate in Nevada. Why should they, when they would still have live with the federal government’s new rigid rules regarding director elections?

The man who said he wants to "make a million dollars" from the Tea Party is back and planning to strike it rich in Las Vegas.

We shouldn't be surprised Judson Phillips hopes to strike it rich in the land the high rollers. He is betting it all on a sure thing. Like they say, if he holds it, they will come. Maybe not the locals, but people from around the country who do not know any better. The Tea Party Groups have been very effective in changing the political landscape in Southern Nevada and are very popular in Las Vegas. Well over 10,000 Tea Party faithfuls turned-out to see Sarah Palin not long ago and drove over 50 miles to Searchlight for the pleasure.

Like bees to honey, this activity has also gained the attention of the grafters and carpetbaggers hoping to make a fast buck. Judson Phillips, the wanna B "King of the Tea Party" is back at it again. And this time, he has added his buddy, radio talk show Mark Skoda as his heavy hitter. Will Skoda's non profit status now be called into question? You bet it will. He has already announced the formation of a new PAC. Let the money roll in!

But a more complete description of the fundraising rules for a 501(c)(4) like the Ensuring Liberty Corp. would go like this: It can raise as much as it can get — no limits — from wealthy donors and from corporations. And there's no disclosure. No possible backlash against the Ensuring Liberty Corp. for taking the money, or against a corporate donor for giving it. How convenient.

Graft is defined as the dishonest use of office or position to get money. Judson Phillips could be the poster child for this activity. He wants $400 a head to attend his latest FOR PROFIT venture in Las Vegas. Add to that the cost of lodging and meals and you easily have a $1000 price tag. Do you think you will get your moneys worth while making Judson a millionaire? Wouldn't that money be better spent supporting your own candidates and local party? Ask yourself what your $400 is really going for.

This is a perfect example of what you should be paying to attend a day long grassroots educational event, leaving you, oh about $900 for a cause or candidate you really believe in.

Dare ask where your money is going and you get dropped from Judson's TPN group faster than a hot potato. He changed his Non-Profit group to a For Profit Corporation in the dead of night, without telling his membership, just before the Nashville fiasco. Are these people mad as Hell? You bet they are and with good reason. They were taken to the cleaners like a dirty pair of coveralls by a man claiming to be a patriot. In fact, he was lining his own pockets like a revival preacher selling snake oil, paying his legal bills and personal debts with Mom and Pop donations. To me, this is just as dishonorable, if not just as criminal as someone claiming to be a war hero, who actually sat out the action in a nice safe place and got a Purple Heart for a hangnail. Some patriot.

Mr. Phillips has kept a pretty low profile since being exposed and causing the near disaster in Nashville, TN with his first convention. He was saved due to the fact that he had Sarah Palin under contract and she could not pull out. The GOP had no choice but to step in and save the affair. Mark Skoda now does Judson's bidding and they are as close as two peas in a pod. I don't know exactly what Mark hopes to get out of this partnership with Phillips, but Mr. Skoda can be sure that people will be watching him now with renewed interest. His claim that he is going to unite all the major Tea Party Groups under his benevolent rule is right out of the Philips "Get Rich Quick" play book. More on this new consolidation of power and money, "Federation of Tea Party Groups" later.

Behind the scenes, the lawsuits demanding accountability from Judson slowly wind their way through the legal system. This is a system the failed and bankrupted D.U.I. lawyer knows well. Ask the people who know him in his home State of TN, but be prepared for words you won't hear in church. Taking a clue from the ACORN disaster, in his place, his partners in crime have formed a new political action committee in an attempt to distance themselves from the name of Phillips, but don't let that fool you. Judson and his wife still hold the purse strings. Money and power are more addictive than crack cocaine.

Who is this man that the TEA Party Express allowed to speak at the tail end their stop in Nashville? Why was the event so poorly attended? I suspect it was not the date or the weather that kept people away, it was the name of Judson Philips. Over half of the only 600 attendees left the event before Judson spoke. Nobody wanted to hear him. This in his own backyard, hometown and home State. Why the Tea Party Express would want to be associated with this man and his moneymaker convention is beyond me. They could hold their own convention and not risk having the slime rub off on them, damaging their credibility. For the most part, the management of the Tea Party Express are good people doing a service for the Tea Party movement. Phillips brings nothing to the table but problems they need no part of. He can however damage the credibility of the entire movement.

Philips may claim to be the important leader of the Tea Party Nation, a group boasting 10,000 members, but a closer look reveals a fractured group with only half that number still active and maybe 10% of them still willing to contribute any time or money. Whoopee zip! This sounds more like a local social club than a "National Group." All the evidence anyone needs can be found by a simple Google search. (a few links provided)

I do not know of even ONE local Las Vegas Patriotic group that supports the man or his "Convention." Even searching the known groups in the State of Nevada, I have yet to come up with one. You would think that someone would sell-out for the opportunity to have their 15 min. of fame on stage with Judson or Mike, but I can't find one. Take from this what you will, but the Grassroots Patriot Groups of Nevada are not stupid gullible people interested in fame or fortune and they are not buying what this Snake Oil Salesman is selling.

Does Sen. Harry Reid have a more accurate understanding of the tea-party movement than RNC Chairman Michael Steele?

Commenting on the little tsunami of tea partiers who flooded his hometown of Searchlight, Nev., ("to demand an end to the Senate majority leader's term") he reportedly said "he was confused about what tea partiers mean when they cite the Constitution and call for liberty, freedom and limited federal government.

'The people who are really upset don't really know why they're upset. … What do they mean?'" The only aspect of the tea-party movement Reid professes to understand is the "anger at government and Washington during a recession."

This means, of course, that Mr. Majority Leader Reid has something in common with the RINOs of the GOP, including RNC leader Michael Steele.

My experience at the tea-party gatherings and with the tea-party organizers convinces me that these matters are of deep concern to participants in the movement. They seem to have little trust for the Democrats' government Santa Claus or the Republicans' green-eyeshade efficiency experts.

They've noticed that either way, when the dust settles a favored few are left with virtually unchecked power over all the rest. One is like a resident plantation owner who promises the slaves food, shelter, health care and no sermons about what they do when they're not working. He runs the place with an iron fist and at first seems to deliver. But his lack of business sense runs through cash and credit, leaving nothing but empty professions of good will.

On the other hand, there is the plantation manager who works for unseen investors. He promises the same goods, and the same lack of sermonizing, and seems likely to keep the plantation going for a while longer. But he, too, runs the place with an iron hand, at the beck and call of his unseen manipulators. Either way, the slaves are still slaves, though arguably working for a better master.

Because of their concern with liberty and the constitutional form of government, tea-party participants don't seem to think either of these alternatives has, or should have, much to do with the American way of life. To paraphrase Frederick Douglass, their goal isn't to work for a good master rather than a bad one.

Obama is destroying this political good. The RINO Republicans refuse to care for or defend it.

But like the generations of Americans who came before them, tea-party patriots know its worth, and many will die fighting, if they must, before they'll let it go.

I know. John Lennon dreamt of a world where there's nothing to live or die for. Obama faction Democrats and phony "conservative" RINOs may go all syrupy inside when they recall his self-obsessed and nihilistic paean.

But tea-party people stand tall inside when they hear the echo from the Reagan years.

I'm proud to be an American, where at least I know I'm free. And I won't forget the men who died, who gave that right to me. And I gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today.

Tea-party people are putting their legs and arms, their heart and courage to the words. They are writing the tune that heralds the day of Obama’s departure. Are there still people in the GOP who hear it as well?

Let me get this straight......we passed a health care plan written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn't read it but exempts themselves from it, to be signed by a president that also is exempt from it and hasn't read it and who smokes, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke.

1. The American people inaugurate a half-Arab, half-baked president with a total of 142 days experience as a US Senator from the most politically corrupt state (and city) in America whose governors have regularly been ousted from office. The President's first official act is to order the close of Gitmo and make sure terrorists civil rights are not violated. (An honest mistake?)

2. The U.S. Congress rushed to confirm Obama's buddy Eric Holder as Attorney General, whose law firm we later find out represents seventeen Gitmo Terrorists. (Another honest mistake?)

3. The CIA Boss appointee, Leon Panetta, had absolutely no experience, has a daughter Linda, we find out, who is a true radical anti-American activist and a supporter of all the Anti-American regimes in the western hemisphere.
(There were socioeconomic factors involved!)

4. We got the second most corrupt American woman (Pelosi is #1) as Secretary of State; bought and paid for. (But who's counting??)

5. We got a Tax Cheat for Treasury Secretary who did not properly file his own taxes for 12 years. (He misspoke!)

6. A Commerce Secretary nominee who withdrew due to corruption charges. (Another honest mistake???)

7. A Tax cheat nominee for Chief Performance Officer who withdrew under charges. (Hmmm... another screw-up?)

8. A Labor Secretary nominee who withdrew under charges of unethical conduct. (Ok, maybe this person was just plain stupid.)

9. A Secretary HHS nominee (Daschle) who withdrew under charges of cheating on his taxes. (I'm running out of excuses for these idiots!!)

10. Multiple appointments of former lobbyists after an absolute campaign statement that no lobbyists would be appointed. (I am getting a headache!) All this occurred just during the first three weeks. . .
but who's counting?

The congress passes the $800,000,000,000 (that's $800 billion) pork-loaded spending bill where the government gives you a smidgen of your tax dollars back ($13 per week), making you feel so good about yourself [stimulated], that you want to run out to Wal-Mart and buy a new Chinese-made HDTV and go home and watch Telemundo!

Here's the good news though - Obama took Air Force One to Denver to sign the stimulus package, wasting 10,000 gallons of fuel and enough money...

Before the special session even began, Nevadans were swamped with doomsday warnings about "devastating cuts" to education. The rhetoric, however, never squared with reality.

When asked, the Legislative Counsel Bureau acknowledged that the operating budget lawmakers had approved for school districts' 2009-11 biennium was actually 4.9 percent larger than that for the previous biennium. And Budget Director Andrew Clinger told lawmakers that the governor's proposed reductions to education would amount to just 2.4 percent of K-12 spending — meaning that K-12 education could well end up actually spending more this biennium than the last!

Senate Majority Leader Steven Horsford didn't like hearing that from Clinger, and went so far as to suggest the budget director, in order to skew public opinion, was playing fast and loose with the numbers.

The reality, however, is that for decades, in the mad race for ever-higher taxes, it is taxpayers who've been subjected to fiercely partisan manipulations of the data. Regularly, the education establishment pretends, for example, that the state General Fund is the only source of revenue. But the General Fund is only one part of the moneys going into K-12 education.

Yes, as Senator Horsford protested, some of the moneys include federal funds mandated to specific programs, like the Free and Reduced Lunch Program. But these programs were sold to the public as ways to improve student learning — full tummies equal full minds, they told us. Is there any doubt that legislators and educators would scream bloody murder if the federal government reduced these funds? You can't divorce entire segments of the budget, such as federal funds, whenever it suits your political purpose.

If lawmakers were to be candid with the public, they'd put the situation in proper perspective, acknowledging all the revenue sources going into the operating budgets.

Federal revenues, for instance, make up about 7 percent of the budget in Clark County and about 8 percent in the Washoe County School District. It is also true that the portion of local school revenues not subsidized by the state could fall further. But these revenues, about 28 percent of all K-12 revenues, would have to fall more than 10 percent below the levels projected in 2009 for K-12 education money to fall below that of the 2007-09 biennium.

In the end, the debate between Governor Gibbons and legislators came down to whether education should grow 2.1 percent or 2.8 percent, instead of 4.9 percent. As it developed, the legislature's "cut" to K-12 spending gave it roughly $200 million more this biennium than the last.

Maybe — during the middle of the greatest recession Nevada's seen in 70 years — we shouldn't have increased funding. Maybe the more intelligent move would have been instituting reforms to use existing funds better.

So will public education be devastated with merely $200 million more this biennium?

If so, it says volumes about the competence of Nevada's education leaders.

THE SITUATION

In Washington , DC , at a Metro Station, on a cold January morning in 2007, this man with a violin played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes. During that time, approximately 2,000 people went through the station, most of them on their way to work. After about 3 minutes, a middle-aged man noticed that there was a musician playing. He slowed his pace and stopped for a few seconds, and then he hurried on to meet his schedule.

About 4 minutes later:

The violinist received his first dollar. A woman threw money in the hat and, without stopping, continued to walk.

At 6 minutes:

A young man leaned against the wall to listen to him, then looked at his watch and started to walk again.

At 10 minutes:

A 3-year old boy stopped, but his mother tugged him along hurriedly. The kid stopped to look at the violinist again, but the mother pushed hard and the child continued to walk, turning his head the whole time. This action was repeated by several other children, but every parent - without exception - forced their children to move on quickly.

At 45 minutes:

The musician played continuously. Only 6 people stopped and listened for a short while. About 20 gave money but continued to walk at their normal pace. The man collected a total of $32.

After 1 hour:

He finished playing and silence took over. No one noticed and no one applauded. There was no recognition at all.

No one knew this, but the violinist was Joshua Bell, one of the greatest musicians in the world. He played one of the most intricate pieces ever written, with a violin worth $3.5 million dollars. Two days before, Joshua Bell sold-out a theater in Boston where the seats averaged $100 each to sit and listen to him play the same music.

This is a true story. Joshua Bell, playing incognito in the D.C. Metro Station, was organized by the Washington Post as part of a social experiment about perception, taste and people's priorities.

This experiment raised several questions:

I have taken a little time off from blogging and sending out my daily quota of Email funnies. The National Precinct Alliance has really taken off and I have been swamped with requests for information. But this is very important information and worth the read.

Why the Tea Party Groups won't hold hands with the GOP and prefer to take them over.

We hear this all time — conservatives in the GOP have to play nice with the moderates.

We never hear the other, that moderates should play nice with conservatives. Why is that? Consider the facts:

In Michigan’s 7th Congressional District, conservative Tim Walberg challenged the very liberal Joe Schwartz in the 2006 Republican Primary and won. Walberg went on to win the general election.

In 2008, Schwartz endorsed Democrat Mark Schauer and Shauer used that endorsement to squeak out a win in this +2 Republican District.

In Maryland 1, conservative physician and state senator Andy Harris ran in the Republican Primary against Wayne Gilchrist. Harris defeated Gilchrist only to see Gilchrist throw his support to Democrat Frank Kratovil, who won with 49.12% of the vote.

In Arizona 5, conservative David Schweikert won the Republican nomination, but then lost to liberal Democrat Harry Mitchell. Why? Schweikert’s primary opponent refused to help him and sat on his hands rather than help Schweikert pick up his opponent’s primary support.

In Alabama 2, Jay Love beat Harri Anne Smith in the Republican Primary and ran against Bobby Bright in an R +16 district. Smith endorsed the Democrat and Bright went on to win 50.23% of the vote.

In New York 23, the liberal Dede Scozzafava drops out and instead of supporting the guy the GOP crawls on bended knee to, she endorses the Democrat.

All the time we hear “conservatives can’t win the general” and “conservatives should play nice with moderates.” Oh really? That's bullshit! The record shows that the moderates cannot take losing and conservatives don’t win the general because the moderate GOP stabs them in the back. We are tired of bending over and taking it up the kazoo.

If we are to work as a team, it can’t just be the conservative players in trouble for not passing the ball. The RINOs will be warming the bench very soon.

The former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist is a heart surgeon.

Who was the last Republican president who was a lawyer? Gerald Ford, who left office 31 years ago and who barely won the Republican nomination as a sitting president, running against Ronald Reagan in 1976.

The Republican Party is made up of real people doing real work, who are often the targets of lawyers.

The Democrat Party is made up of lawyers. Democrats mock and scorn men who create wealth, like Bush and Cheney, or who heal the sick, like Frist, or who immerse themselves in history, like Gingrich.

The Lawyers’ Party sees these sorts of people, who provide goods and services that people want, as the enemies of America . And, so we have seen the procession of official enemies, in the eyes of the Lawyers’ Party, grow.

Against whom do Hillary and Obama rail? Pharmaceutical companies, oil companies, hospitals, manufacturers, fast food restaurant chains, large retail businesses, bankers, and anyone producing anything of value in our nation.

This is the natural consequence of viewing everything through the eyes of lawyers.
Lawyers solve problems by successfully representing their clients, in this case the American people. Lawyers seek to have new laws passed, they seek to win lawsuits, they press appellate courts to overturn precedent, and lawyers always parse language to favor their side.

Confined to the narrow practice of law, that is fine. But it is an awful way to govern a great nation. When politicians as lawyers begin to view some Americans as clients and other Americans as opposing parties, then the role of the legal system in our life becomes all-consuming. Some Americans become “adverse parties” of our very government. We are not all litigants in some vast social class-action suit. We are citizens of a republic that promises us a great deal of freedom from laws, from courts, and from lawyers.

Today, we are drowning in laws; we are contorted by judicial decisions; we are driven to distraction by omnipresent lawyers in all parts of our once private lives. America has a place for laws and lawyers, but that place is modest and reasonable, not vast and unchecked. When the most important decision for our next president is whom he will appoint to the Supreme Court, the role of lawyers and the law in America is too big. When lawyers use criminal prosecution as a continuation of politics by other means, as happened in the lynching of Scooter Libby and Tom Delay, then the power of lawyers in America is too great. When House Democrats sue America in order to hamstring our efforts to learn what our enemies are planning to do to us, then the role of litigation in America has become crushing.

We cannot expect the Lawyers’ Party to provide real change, real reform or real hope in America Most Americans know that a republic in which every major government action must be blessed by nine unelected judges is not what Washington intended in 1789. Most Americans grasp that we cannot fight a war when ACLU lawsuits snap at the heels of our defenders. Most Americans intuit that more lawyers and judges will not restore declining moral values or spark the spirit of enterprise in our economy.

Perhaps Americans will understand that change cannot be brought to our nation by those lawyers who already largely dictate American society and business. Perhaps Americans will see that hope does not come from the mouths of lawyers but from personal dreams nourished by hard work. Perhaps Americans will embrace the truth that more lawyers with more power will only make our problems worse.

The United States has 5% of the world’s population and 66% of the world’s lawyers! Tort (Legal) reform legislation has been introduced in congress several times in the last several years to limit punitive damages in ridiculous lawsuits such as “spilling hot coffee on yourself and suing the establishment that sold it to you” and also to limit punitive damages in huge medical malpractice lawsuits. This legislation has continually been blocked from even being voted on by the Democrat Party. When you see that 97% of the political contributions from the American Trial Lawyers Association goes to the Democrat Party, then you realize who is responsible for our medical and product costs being so high!

Discretionary spending under President Obama has increased 84%. But more importantly, notice how eagerly the President attempts to make it seem like he had no choice in the matter by shifting the blame for our nation's deficits to other administrations.

Earlier in that same Q&A, the President said he did not want to "re-litigate the past" (BLAME BUSH) O.K. fair enough. Our focus should be on our future policies, and the budget the Obama administration released yesterday is a great place to start. Heritage Foundation fellow Brian Riedl has completed an analysis of the budget released yesterday, and this is what President Obama's policies would do:

Permanently expand the federal government by nearly 3 percent of gross domestic product (GDP) over 2007 pre-recession levels;

Raise taxes on all Americans by more than $2 trillion over the next decade (counting health care reform and cap and trade);

Raise taxes for 3.2 million small businesses and upper-income taxpayers by an average of $300,000 over the next decade;

Leave permanent deficits that top $1 trillion in as late as 2020; and

Double the publicly held national debt to over $18 trillion.

Spending Freeze? Spending Cuts? Does anyone but a frigging Damned Idiot really think this amounts to anything more than a headlong dive into Socialism and Bankruptcy?

Most States have taxpayer groups that make the State politician's voting records public and ranks them accordingly with a "SCORE." Nobody scores 100% and a score of 50% is still considered to be citizen friendly.

In the case of Nevada, this was quite an eyeopener! Some so called conservatives had voting records worse than the admitted democratic Socialists.

When this report became public in Clark County Nevada (Las Vegas) you could hear the pigs screaming all the way from Carson City.

"HOW DARE THEY MAKE MY VOTING RECORD PUBLIC?"

"WE WILL DESTROY THE CLARK COUNTY GOP!"

And yes, they have tried and are still trying. In their failed effort to keep this out of the news and public view, lawsuits against individuals have been threatened. The State Party can impede the County Parties every effort to clean house and run efficiently. Political penalties will be paid by any candidate who dares to mention this and point-out the incumbents miserable voting record on raising taxes and fees. You see, the State GOP holds the purse strings to a considerable amount of MONEY. This is the darker side of politics one never sees unless they are on the inside. This is what goes on behind the closed doors of Executive Sessions.

As Mark Twain pointed out, the worlds two oldest professions have allot in common. It doesn't matter who is right or wrong, because the State GOP has the big bucks and can break an individual by filing lawsuit after lawsuit. Do we have a few rotten eggs in Carson City? So I was checking the discussion board postings for a graduate class I am taking and found that one of the other students in the course once again pissed me off with his apparent liberalism. (the guy plans on going into administration and has barely taught. His educational career includes teaching a course in Human Services at Sojourner Douglas College in DC...can we say majorly liberal and racial school? as well as teaching Math, language arts, and computer at a private school and public school...teaching experience, albeit limited in reality, is 4 years...oh and his BS is in Ministry and has a Masters in Theological Studies).

The question posed was which was more important: the individual rights of the students and teachers or the schools need for structure and discipline. This particular student felt that the individual rights were paramount and that schools had no right to violate the Constitution in any way (and he plans on being an administrator...heaven help us).

Technically, The United States Supreme Court has for years been clear that school administrators have the right to restrict constitutional rights in order to keep students safe when they are at school. The Court has held on many occasions that because students are in the care of the school during school days, schools can take the steps necessary to maintain safety and order. This means that schools can impose restrictions that would not be necessarily be constitutional when applied to adults in general. Schools have been allowed to restrict First Amendment rights to free speech and press, the Fourth Amendment rights against unreasonable searches; and, of course, the Second Amendment rights to keep and bear arms.

Sorry, I digress. At any rate, while looking up all my materials to blast him (had to make sure I had proper APA format in my references) I happened upon this satirical Bill of Rights for High School Students on newsvine.com and thought it was hilarious so decided to share it with you. The scary thing is that there are very liberal educators who might think this was really appropriate.

NEW YORK - Wal-Mart Stores Inc. said Sunday it is cutting more than 10,000 jobs at Sam's Club, representing about 9 percent of the warehouse club operator's staff, as it outsources its product-sampling department to marketing company Shopper Events and eliminates another unit.

"Our demos can be a competitive advantage and we want to take this member experience to the next level," said Sam's Club CEO Brian Cornell in a memo to staffers.

Employees were told the news at mandatory meetings on Sunday morning.

The company also cut its new business membership representative positions, affecting about 2 staffers per store.

"We have found that we can more effectively drive membership through targeted member acquisition events and by increasing our partner membership programs," Cornell said.

"I feel betrayed," said Sally Grueling, 56, who had worked at Sam's Club for nine years, most recently in Hilliard, Ohio as a new business membership representative.

Shopper Events, based in Rogers, Ark., currently works with Wal-Mart's namesake stores on in-store demonstrations.

In the memo, Cornell said Shopper Events would hire "roughly the same number of people" cut and workers are invited to apply for those positions.

Earlier this month, Wal-Mart closed 10 Sam's Club stores, resulting in about 1,500 jobs being lost.

Sam's Club employs about 110,000 people.

Yes, I know just what this means and how vulgar it is. Nevertheless, it is the irresistibly appropriate response to the deluge of disgusting vileness we have been subjected to by the Democrat Party, the OPM Obama Propaganda Media, and the Moonbat Hate America Left.

Democrat Chuck Schumer - a United States Senator - publicly calls Scott Brown a "far-right teabagger." MSNBC loudmouth Ed Schultz announces on his national radio show (1/16) that "I'd cheat to keep these bastards (Scott Brown and other conservatives) out" of power. Radical lunatic talk show host Mike Malloy denounces the voters of Massachusetts for electing "a theocratic madman as senator," and tells his audience that Hannity, Limbaugh & O'Reilly were the ones who really "bombed your goddamn country" on 9/11.

Ultimate moonbat Keith Olbermann proclaims on MSNBC national television that Scott Brown is an "irresponsible, homophobic, racist, reactionary, ex-nude model, teabagging supporter of violence against women and against politicians with whom he disagrees."

Well, sorry, schmucks. You all just got teabagged by America.

Please, froth at the mouth all you want in hysterical anger and rage. The more you do, the more we enjoy the spectacle. And the easier it is to keep teabagging you. Anyone skilled at streetfighting knows the first objective is to get the opponent to lose his temper, for then they can't think straight and can be taken down easily.

It's even better, of course, if you have a number of opponents whom you can get to fight among themselves instead of you. How this will play out in the wake of this week's Mass-acre was adumbrated last week in The Coming Democrat Implosion. (Note, e.g., the prediction that Dems would start attacking Zero is already coming true.

The implosion has begun. Pelosi Galore abandoned her strut of arrogance yesterday (1/21) and admitted she doesn't have the votes for the Senate bill, whereupon Drudge ran the banner headline: The Day Health Care Died.

The real Messiah could raise the dead, but the false one can't. ObamaCare is a crispy critter, and Zero will be unable to resurrect it. In fact, as Congressional Dems tear themselves apart and flee for the exits, Zero's entire legislative agenda is going down in flames. Relish the moment. Sunrise in America.

Yet there are other moments to enjoy, for this has been an amazing week for freedom.

This week, Cap & Trade glowarmer legislation froze to death in the Himalayas. On the heels of Climategate, which revealed that all the computer models predicting warming are based on fraudulent data - GIGO, garbage in/garbage out - now comes Glaciergate.

The 2007 report on warming that won the IPCC (the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change of the UN) the Nobel Peace Prize that it shared with Algore claimed that the glaciers of the Himalayas would melt away by 2035. The evidence for this turns out to be one interview with one Indian glaciologist with New Scientist magazine (no peer-reviewed journal, this) - and who says he said no such thing.

Buckling under all these scandals, the UN on Tuesday (1/19) abandoned its deadline for countries to declare what CO2 emissions cuts they promised to make. This effectively terminates any possibility for a "climate change treaty" via which beggar countries get to shake down Western countries for putting all that CO2 in the air.

It also terminates the Dems' Cap & Trade - and Zero's attempt to force it via EPA regulation. Lisa Murkowski's S.J. 26 blocking EPA rules on CO2 as a "pollutant" was announced yesterday (1/21) and already has 39 sponsors, three of whom are Dems (see the link for the co-sponsor list). Soon the EPA will be outgunned.

What other great advance for freedom took place this week? Why, the resurrection of the First Amendment from the ashes of McCain-Feingold by the Supreme Court. The Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission decision yesterday (1/21) was 5-4, with Anthony Kennedy providing its basis:

"If the First Amendment has any force, it prohibits jailing citizens for engaging in political speech."

You know this is a fabulous pro-freedom decision when the entire phalanx of Fascist Dems screams in denunciation. Their protests, like Zero's or Chuck Schumer's saying it gives a "green light for special interests," are simply hilarious - because they've provided nothing but a green light to unions and lefty outfits set up by George Soros.

Further, because of the ban - now lifted by SCOTUS - on direct corporate campaign spending, companies had to hire expensive lobbyists who were former staffers of pols like Schumer, and donate generously to the pols to protect themselves from legislative threats.

This Washington Shakedown game no longer works as it did with companies now free to express their political views directly. Companies are actually free now to be pro-business, while the power of Dem demagogues like Schumer is severely weakened. Just how weakened can be seen by charismatic economist Larry Kudlow of CNBC fame on the verge of challenging Schumer who is up for election in November.

Just how bad will November be for the Dems? Look at this analysis of 2010 Senate races by election prognosticator Larry Sabato. If the election were held today, he judges that the Republicans would have a net gain of seven seats. Add to this that Gillibrand in NY, the Dem replacement for Dodd in CT, Boxer in CA, and now even Schumer may be in grave jeopardy.

Of course, the election is not today but more than nine months away. That's a political eternity. More than time enough for Republican wimps to blow it. Which brings us to Tea Partyers.

These folks easily have the capacity to ruin any rescue from Dem tyranny in November by trying to form a third party. It's hard to imagine anything more stupid and self-destructive than this. Thankfully, it's what they are not doing.

Instead, indications are the TeaPartyers are doing exactly what they should be doing - which is taking over the Republican Party from the ground up. TeaPartyers have launched the National Precinct Alliance enabling them to control the GOP at the precinct level. Co-Founder Tony Warren says, "The mantra: take the precinct, take the state, take the party - and force it to run conservative candidates instead of RINOs."

This is awesome - and it's only half of the pie the TeaPartyers are baking. The other half is not demanding down-the-line conservative political purity for every candidate, as evinced by their massive support for Scott Brown.

Brown is as conservative as you could get and still be electorally viable in Mass. Which means, for a key example, he calls himself "pro-choice," while nonetheless wanting to ban partial birth abortion. That's smart of him and smart of TeaPartyers to support him on it. Getting this sort of baby murder to be a crime is politically doable - so that's where you start.

If the TeaPartyers can stay flexibly savvy like this while taking over the structure of the GOP from within, they just might enable the Republicans to avoid snatching defeat from victory.

Which brings us to TeaPartyers and Sarah Palin. There's this odd criticism that she's speaking at a "controversial" tea party convention for a hefty $100K fee while blowing off speaking at the annual gathering of conservatives in Washington at CPAC.

It's odd because of the anti-capitalist bias of the criticism. RedState's Erik Erickson sniffs that the convention "smells scammy" because it's "run by a for-profit group." What is he, some kind of closet Marxist? What the hell is wrong with making money? What the hell is wrong with Sarah Palin earning money? Isn't the Tea Party phenomenon supposed to be pro-capitalist?

Maybe Erickson is miffed because he wasn't invited for free.

At any rate, here's the skinny on Palin & CPAC. CPAC is run by Dave Keene who runs ACU, the American Conservative Union. He tried to shakedown FedEx for $2 million for a lobbying campaign against the unionization of FedEx workers. Fred Smith said no thanks -- so Keene got a contract with UPS to bash its rival FedEx.

This ticked Palin off royally. She wants nothing to do with Keene -- the Jesse Jackson shakedown artist of the right.. So she turned CPAC down. Good for her.

Palin has principles - and she also has really savvy political smarts. Note how she stayed completely clear of Brown's race and didn't endorse him like she did Doug Hoffman in NY23. She knew that would hurt him in Blue Mass. Now that he won, she's free to say Hallelujah.

Note also that her plan to hit the 2010 trail is exactly the strategy The Palin Potential predicted she would adopt last July. A lot of folks in the new Republican House & Senate majority of 2011 will owe her bigtime. Only then will she start talking about 2012.

That's what the kid behind the counter at Taco Bell said to me. I dug into my pocket and pulled out some lint and two dimes and something that used to be a Jolly Rancher. Having already handed the kid a five-spot, I started to head back out to the truck to grab some change when the kid with the Emo hairdo said the harshest thing anyone has ever said to me. He said,

"It's OK. I'll just give you the senior citizen discount."

I turned to see who he was talking to and then heard the sound of change hitting the counter in front of me. "Only $4.68" he said cheerfully. I stood there stupefied. I am 59, not even 60 yet, a mere child! ME? A Senior Citizen?

I took my burrito and walked out to the truck wondering what was wrong with Emo. Was he blind? As I sat in the truck, my blood began to boil. Old? Me?

I'll show him, I thought. I opened the door and headed back inside. I strode to the counter, and there he was waiting with a smile. Before I could say a word, he held up something and jingled it in front of me, like I could be that easily distracted! What am I now? A toddler?

"Dude! Can't get too far without your car keys, eh?"

I stared with utter disdain at the keys. I began to rationalize in my mind.

"Leaving keys behind hardly makes a man elderly! It could happen to anyone!"

I turned and headed back to the truck. I slipped the key into the ignition, but it wouldn't turn. What now? I checked my keys and tried another. Still nothing. That's when I noticed the purple beads hanging from my rear view mirror.. I had no purple beads hanging from my rear view mirror. Then, a few other objects came into focus. The car seat in the back seat. Happy Meal toys spread all over the floorboard. A partially eaten doughnut on the dashboard.

Faster than you can say Ginkgo Bilbao, I flew out of the alien vehicle. Moments later I was speeding out of the parking lot, relieved to finally be leaving this nightmarish stop in my life. That is when I felt it, deep in the bowels of my stomach: hunger! My stomach growled and churned, and I reached to grab my burrito, only it was nowhere to be found.

I swung the truck around, gathered my courage, and strode back into the restaurant one final time. There Emo stood, draped in youth and black nail polish. All I could think was, "What is the world coming to?" All I could say was, "Did I leave my food and drink in here?" At this point I was ready to ask a Boy Scout to help me back to my vehicle, and then go straight home and apply for Social Security benefits..

Emo had no clue. I walked back out to the truck, and suddenly a young lad came up and tugged on my jeans to get my attention. He was holding up a drink and a bag. Tony Opposes the Jobs for Main Street Act of 2010

Some things in life are certain: death and taxes, for instance. And when it comes to an overgrown government with a penchant for interjecting itself into every aspect of the personal lives and private businesses of the nation's citizens, it is just as certain that any new program will cost tens or hundreds of billions of dollars, while the stated target goal is likely to be missed.

And so it is with this jobs bill.

Called the "Jobs for Main Street Act of 2010" by Democrats, and referred to as the “son of stimulus” by Conservatives, the $154 billion price tag would see $75 billion from the Wall Street bailout fund shifted to yet another jobs creation plan even though unused money was supposed to help reduce the deficit. Object lesson: once government gets its hands on your money, it will be spent even if it means throwing it into the wind. More typical Big Government policy from the Socialists.

The fact remains that government cannot create jobs. It can, however, shift jobs from the private sector where they originate and create wealth to the public sector that is unproductive and wasteful, further depressing the economy. All increases in government spending lead to decreases in private savings. The only thing that grows is government, not jobs, not the economy, and certainly not freedom.

Obama On Massachusetts Loss: “Surprised, Frustrated, Not Pleased”

Referendums hurt. Look for Angry Obama to be fully out and about after the whooping his policies took in Massachusetts yesterday. On Republican Scott Brown’s win of Teddy Kennedy’s perpetual Senate Seat, White House Spokes pimp Bobby Gibbs told reporters that Barry was “surprised” and “frustrated”. When asked if the Big O was “angry”, Gibbs replied that he was “not pleased”. Ouch! [That's just 2 damn bad]

Gibbs acknowledged that “There is a tremendous amount of upset and anger,” said Gibbs. The Admin hasn’t gotten the message about WHY there is so much anger in the electorate, as he spun on with: “In many ways, we are here because of that upset and anger.”

Ah, yeah, Gibbs. You’re there because the administration you represent lied their asses off to the American people, and has been the most corrupt thing to hit Washington IN HISTORY. You’re there because the date is still 2010 and not 2012.

Tea Parties Find Power in National Precinct Alliance Strategy

Another great article about the National Precinct Alliance, As Co-Founder of the NPA, all I can do is smile and thank all the the Patriots in the Battle Born State of Nevada. We have taken the Precinct Plan National using Nevada as the blueprint. The Grassroots Patriots in Nevada deserve all the credit, for if they had not united and succeeded in defeating the RINOs here in Nevada, this strategy would not be catching like it has. It would only be a good idea, sitting on the shelf for another 20 or 30 years.

If you really want hope and change, look no further than the Nevada GOP and our new leadership. Grassroots Conservatives can not stop with the precincts and central committees. We must continue to take State after State until the GOP is our own tool to defeat the Socialists who wish to take our freedoms away from us. The RINO can be bought. The RINO compromises with the enemy. The RINO has no backbone and would rather lay down and quit than stay and fight. The RINO has no place in the New GOP.

Tea Party Groups have and continue to come together. We now control the GOP in several States. We have only just begun to exercise our power and the National Media is paying attention, the RINOs are going extinct and the Liberal Progressive Socialists are absolutely shaking in their pink fuzzy slippers. If you think we are succeeding in 2010, just wait until 2012. Look out Obama, Pelosi and Reid. We will be sending our people to Washing in 2010 to take our country back. HOLLAND, Pa. — The Tea Party movement ignited a year ago, fueled by anti-establishment anger. Now, Tea Party activists are trying to take over the establishment, ground up.

Across the country, they are signing up to be Republican precinct leaders, a position so low-level that it often remains vacant, but which comes with the ability to vote for the party executives who endorse candidates, approve platforms and decide where the party spends money.

A new group called the National Precinct Alliance says it has a coordinator in nearly every state to recruit Tea Party activists to fill the positions and has already swelled the number of like-minded members in Republican Party committees in Arizona and Nevada. Its mantra is this: Take the precinct, take the state, take the party — and force it to nominate conservatives rather than people they see as liberals in Republican clothing.

Here, in a perennial battleground district outside Philadelphia, Tea Party activists are trying to strip the local committee of its influence in choosing the Republican nominee to run against Representative Patrick J. Murphy, a Democrat who won the seat in 2006 by about 1,500 votes.

After the local party said it would stick to its custom of endorsing a candidate rather than holding an open primary, Tea Party groups decided to hold their own candidate forum where people could cast a ballot. If the party does not yield, the groups say they will host a debate, too.

“We kind of changed the rules,” said Anastasia Przybylski, one of the organizers.

The Tea Party movement, named after the tax revolt in 1773, might be better described as a diverse, rambunctious and Internet-connected network of groups, powered by grass-roots anxiety about the economy, bailouts and increasing government involvement in health care. At one extreme are militia members who have shown up at meetings wearing guns and suggesting that institutions like the Federal Reserve be eliminated. At the other are those like Ms. Przybylski, who describes herself as “just a stay-at-home mom” who became agitated about the federal stimulus package.

And if the Democrats are big-government socialists, the Republicans, in the Tea Party mind, are enablers.

In some recent polls, a hypothetical Tea Party wins more support than Democrats or Republicans, and the most anti-establishment Tea Party activists push to fight as a third party. But as the movement looks toward the midterm elections in November, a growing number of activists argue that the best way to translate anger into influence is to infiltrate the Republican establishment (Democrats being, for the average Tea Partier, beyond redemption).

“If you want to have revenge against the Republican Party for using you for so many years, the best way is to turn around and use the Republican Party to your advantage,” said Eric Odom, a Tea Party activist in Chicago who recently started a political action committee, and on his blog urged Tea Partiers to stop complaining about the Republican Party and “move in and take it over.”

Republican leaders have been trying to harness the Tea Party energy — Michael Steele, the chairman of the Republican National Committee, recently called the Tea Parties “a revelatory moment.”

“It puts in stark relief where the American people are, how they feel and what they feel,” Mr. Steele said. “It’s important for our party to appreciate and understand that so we can move toward it, and embrace it.”

Not all Republicans agree. Some say the party needs to broaden its reach, not cater to the fringe.

The defining experience for many Tea Party groups was the special election in the 23rd Congressional District of New York in November, where party leaders chose a candidate whom conservatives viewed as a Republican in name only — she supported same-sex marriage, abortion rights and the federal stimulus package. After activists flooded the district to support a conservative third-party candidate, the Republican dropped out and endorsed the Democrat, who won.

Conservatives took the Republican retreat as a victory, but also saw the power of the party structure in deciding who the candidates will be. The rallying cry for more local involvement has been “No more NY-23’s.”

“We don’t want to see what happened in New York happen here,” Ms. Przybylski said.

The forum here drew nine candidates and a standing-room crowd in an auditorium built for 1,200. The questions organizers had drawn up for the candidates hinted at the issues important to so called Teapublicans.

Will you pledge to vote against tax increases, even hidden taxes like those in health care reform? Should corporate executives who encourage illegal immigrants to stay because it is good for business be hauled off to jail? Do you believe manmade pollution is a significant contributor to global warming? (“I don’t necessarily think there’s been global warming,” one candidate objected.)

Each was asked to define the 10th Amendment, and to cite examples of where it “might have been violated.” “It’s my favorite amendment in the Constitution,” exclaimed one candidate, Ira Hoffman. “I can’t believe it!”

The amendment declares that powers not granted to the federal government by the Constitution are reserved to the states, and Tea Party activists hold that Congress has overstepped its bounds, particularly by legislating health care. So candidates were asked a related question: Would you support efforts to nullify the health care bill?
Finally, the moderator asked them if 2010 would be “the year of the Tea Party.” The candidates, and many in the audience, said it would, but only if the Tea Party advocates worked the system.

“I think we can do greater things working in a system that’s established than we ever can being a bunch of anarchists,” said Jennifer Turner Stefano, a vice president of a local Tea Party group who is contesting her local Republican committeeperson.

Ms. Stefano, a stay-at-home mother and former television reporter, will have to get 10 signatures and put her name on the ballot to run. But the National Precinct Alliance estimates that about 60 percent of the roughly 150,000 local Republican committee seats are vacant and can be filled by essentially showing up.

“Even if you’ve got a slight majority, you just need maybe 26 states, then you can have your say in how the party goes,” said Philip Glass, a former commercial mortgage banker in Cincinnati who is the national director of the precinct alliance.

The precinct strategy, like the Tea Party movement itself, has spread via the Internet, on sites like Resistnet.com. A National Tea Party Convention in Nashville next month will feature seminars on how to take over, starting at the precinct level.

Advocates hold up the example of Las Vegas, where a group of about 30 people who had become friendly at Tea Party events last spring met to discuss how they could turn their crowds into political influence. One mentioned that there were about 500 open precinct committee positions in the local Republican Party.

They recruited other activists and flooded the committee — the Republican Party says it now has 780 committee people, up from about 300. In July, they approved a new executive committee, and Tony Warren, one of the organizers and a new precinct committeeman himself, said six out of seven executives were “constitutional conservatives,” in keeping with Tea Party ideology.

With the bulk of Nevada’s population in the Las Vegas area, the local committee was able to elect a conservative slate to the state party in December, including a state chairman who has said he wants to make the party “safe” for conservatives.

As recently as last spring, Mr. Warren said, “we didn’t even know how the darn party worked.”

In Florida, a Democratic operative with absolutely no connection to the tea party movement has filed papers to form a third party called the Florida Tea Party. He has issued legal threats against local tea parties demanding that they cease using the name "Florida Tea Party."

Tea Party Patriots is issuing this statement in order to make it clear that we are not associated with this, or any attempts to form a third party. Additionally, we believe that such efforts are unproductive and unwise at this time. The history of third party movements in this country is one of division and defeat. We believe that it is instead time for all Americans to rise up and demand appropriate reform within their own parties. The mechanisms exist for citizens to participate in their parties, and to drive their parties in the right direction.

The Tea Party Patriots encourage all citizens to get involved in the party process, and to reshape their parties into something in which they may once again believe. This country does not belong to any one party, nor does it belong to the career politicians. This country belongs to the citizens. I took a look at my first pay stub for 2010 and Surprise Surprise, my Federal Withholding Tax went UP and my Net Pay went DOWN! Where is the Middle Tax Cuts we were all promised? Who are you sharing my wealth with? You have raised my taxes in what we all hope is the middle of the recession. The latest indicators are not headed up and neither is my pay. This recession is now officially deeper and longer than the Great Depression and you just took another chunk out of my pay. Thank you Asshole.

Oh sure, you are not the only one to blame. Your Socialist buddies in Congress can shoulder some of yours. They voted themselves a nice pay raise this year. They won't feel the tax increase. They won't have to pay increased taxes on their health care plans either. You have put the burden of paying for your lavish lifestyle on the backs of the working people, the retired and the elderly who can least afford it.

I thought maybe this big huge middle class tax cut all you Socialists are bragging about will come in the way of my tax refund this year. Well, Mr Socialist, come this November the joke will be on you. People like myself will not be contributing to your economic recovery because we are broke. We will not be voting for any other little Socialist who supports your policies to tax us into slavery.

You have done a good progressive job of ruining the manufacturing segment of this once great Nation. The number of people employed by the government now exceeds those people employed in private sector manufacturing for the first time in this Nations history. I have been a loyal listener of your show. I've met you in person at one of the 'rallies' that the Nevada Patriots held. I had allot of respect for you, and held you in high esteem.

However, when I heard the comments that you made on your show about the GOP. I couldn't believe it! I thought that I had misunderstood your dialog - in some way. A person of your caliber and accomplishments - I had expected more from you.

To lower yourself to say what you did on the 'air' shows ignorance. Even if you had an issue with the 'movement', there are mature ways of addressing the matter.

To use you show for such purposes, in my opinion, is in bad taste. It does not speak very well of you to use your position to tear down others. I was a loyal listener, but that has changed. I will continue to be loyal to Rush, Sean, and Mark. But I'll find something else to do when your show airs.
